DECLARATION OF SUSTAINABILITY

Biomass Power Louisiana is committed to the following principals:

• The production of biomass pellet fuel from the Natchitoches facility will not take place at the expense of the net carbon balance of carbon reservoirs in the vegetation and soil of our harvesting area.
   
• The production of biomass pellet fuel will not adversely impact the bio-diversity within the harvesting area.
   
• The production of biomass pellet fuel will at least maintain or will improve soil quality in the harvesting area.
   
• The production of biomass pellet fuel will not adversely impact, ground or surface water and will limit the impact on the water reserves in the harvesting area.
   
• The production of biomass fuel will not adversely impact atmospheric air quality.
   
• The production of biomass fuel will not adversely impact food, water supply, or the subsistence of any local community affected by plant operations.
   
• The production of biomass fuel will not adversely impact property rights and will contribute to the prosperity and welfare of the employees and the local population.
   
• Ethnic principals related to health and safety, human rights, freedom of association, compulsory labor, discrimination, environmental responsibility, business integrity and corruption in all forms will be fully respected.
   
• Wood sourcing will be fully compliant with the FSC US Forestry Management Standard, either administered by the supplier of fiber to the plant or as administered by Biomass Power Louisiana.
